VOICES FESTIVAL

The West London Summer Programme, supported by The National Literacy Trust is excited to share the opportunity for young people attending West London schools and their families to enjoy a unique one-day event at Burlington Danes Academy on Thursday 17th August 2017.

The day is being delivered by a range of authors, performance poets, theatre groups and other partners of the National Literacy Trust.


For younger children there will be breakout rooms for a range of activities including: song and rhyme, Where’s Wally hunt, design a book cover, Big Doodle and other crafts.


Ark Schools Events team will organise a lunch (BBQ) which is fully funded as part of the wider West London Summer Programme.

DAY OVERVIEW

  • 09:30 - Gates open - arrive and register (please bring your ticket to save time)

  • 10:15 - Take your seats and welcome by organisers and leading author

  • 11:00 - Creative carousels of workshops on a range of skills; including: drama, sport, storytelling and performance poetry

  • 12:30 - Lunch (BBQ) - halal meat will be served

  • 13:15 - Creative carousels

  • 14:15 - Showcase event

  • 15:30 - Close and depart
